Dream With One Eye Open centers on a special artist named Sylvia who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at the age of 3. She connects with the world through art, especially in drawing characters with only one eye. Art has become the key to unlocking the door between Sylvia, a girl who has a mentality of a 3-year-old stuck inside the body of a 14-year-old, and her mom Katherine, a woman who has overcome life struggles including multiple divorces, domestic violence, and jail sentence yet never given up on offering unconditional love to her autistic daughter.
